Fletcha Middleton: Cricket player
Fletcha Scott Middleton (born 21 January 2002) is an English professional cricketer and one of Hampshire’s most promising young batters. A right‑handed top‑order player and right‑arm off‑break bowler, Middleton has steadily risen through Hampshire’s ranks to become a regular feature in their First‑Class and List A sides.
🏏 Early Life and Development
Born in Winchester, Hampshire, Middleton grew up in a cricketing family—his father, Tony Middleton, played for Hampshire from 1984 to 1995 and later became the club’s batting coach. This strong cricketing environment shaped Fletcha’s early interest in the sport.
He joined Hampshire’s youth system at a young age, progressing rapidly from the Under‑14 side to the Under‑17s and the Academy by age 15. Middleton soon became one of the standout talents in age‑group cricket, earning recognition as the best batter in the ECB Lions Super 4s, a national Under‑17 competition.
📈 Rise Through the Ranks
Middleton’s breakthrough came in 2019 when he scored a pivotal 132\* in the Second XI Championship Final, cementing his reputation as a future first‑team prospect. He made his List A debut on 12 August 2021 against Durham in the Royal London One‑Day Cup, followed by his First‑Class debut on 13 May 2022 against the Sri Lanka Development XI.
By 2023–2024, Middleton had become a regular in Hampshire’s senior squad, opening the batting in both the County Championship and the One‑Day Cup. His maiden List A century (100 vs Middlesex) and maiden First‑Class century (116 vs Warwickshire) highlighted his growing maturity and consistency.

Born in Ontario, Canada in the early 1960's. Attended Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute High School (GCVI). And then attended the 3-year television broadcasting course at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. Before finishing college, I was hired at Global Television Network in Toronto in 1986. Started working on game shows such as 'Bumper Stumpers' and 'Jackpot'. Worked Ontario lottery shows (Wintario) and Major League Baseball games at Exhibition Stadium and various other shoots. From studio work I then ended up working in On-Air playback and doing some master control. Was offered a position working in their IT department. Designed and implemented their first Newsroom system, Domain and large Email systems for Canada and in Ireland (TV3). Relocated to the corporate office and remained with the company for more than 30 years. More recently hired as a Senior Technical Specialist for a large North American Insurance company. In my late teens my mother introduced me to family history, and I've been hooked ever since. Because of my work in television, I have an entry in the Internet Movie Database.
