Sir Robert Weston Brooke, 2nd Bt. DSO MC DL, served in the military with the Queen's Own Yorkshire Dragoons during World War I. Mentioned in despatches four times. He held the title of Deputy Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty. He was awarded the Military Cross in 1916. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1918. He held the title of 2nd Bt. of Almondbury from 1920 to 1942.
