Alastair Mackenzie: actor, writer, producer
Alastair Mackenzie was born in Trinafour, Perthshire, Scotland. He grew up in a family with a rich Scottish heritage. His father was born in Perth, Perthshire, in 1929, and his mother was born in 1940. Alastair has an older brother, and a sister born in Winchester, Hampshire, England.

Alastair pursued a career in acting, becoming a well-known Scottish actor in both movies and television. His work brought him recognition and allowed him to contribute significantly to the arts. Throughout his career, he balanced his professional life with his personal life, becoming a father to a daughter and a son both born in London, Middlesex, England.
Tragedy struck in 2015 when Alastair lost both of his parents. His mother passed away earlier that year in Perthshire, and his father followed on November 26, 2015, also in Perthshire. Despite these personal losses, Alastair continued to thrive in his career, leaving a lasting impact on the Scottish acting scene.

Family Connection
Alastair is double related as a 5th and 6th cousin from my maternal Milroy side of the family through his paternal grandmother. Alastair appears in “The Crown” series which has a scene that mentions our cousin Sir Eric Kinloch Anderson. Alastair also appears in the Star Wars series “Andor” as Perrin Fertha.

Born in Ontario, Canada in the early 1960's. Attended Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute High School (GCVI). And then attended the 3-year television broadcasting course at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. Before finishing college, I was hired at Global Television Network in Toronto in 1986. Started working on game shows such as 'Bumper Stumpers' and 'Jackpot'. Worked Ontario lottery shows (Wintario) and Major League Baseball games at Exhibition Stadium and various other shoots. From studio work I then ended up working in On-Air playback and doing some master control. Was offered a position working in their IT department. Designed and implemented their first Newsroom system, Domain and large Email systems for Canada and in Ireland (TV3). Relocated to the corporate office and remained with the company for more than 30 years. More recently hired as a Senior Technical Specialist for a large North American Insurance company. In my late teens my mother introduced me to family history, and I've been hooked ever since. Because of my work in television, I have an entry in the Internet Movie Database.
